A one-day workshop on “Environmental Pollution and Sustainability: Science, Risk, Policy” was successfully organised by the School of Environment and Disaster Management, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Narendrapur, Kolkata, in collaboration with the University of Salford, Manchester, UK, on 21 January 2026 at the Seminar Room, RKMVERI, Narendrapur Campus. The workshop provided an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, researchers, and students to engage in meaningful discussions on the scientific dimensions of environmental pollution, associated health and ecological risks, and emerging sustainability-oriented policy frameworks. Emphasis was placed on bridging scientific evidence with risk assessment and policy interventions to address contemporary environmental challenges. The programme fostered international academic collaboration and encouraged critical thinking on sustainable solutions aligned with global environmental and development goals.
