National Science Day is an annual celebration held on February 28th in India, commemorating the discovery of the Raman effect by Sir C.V. Raman in 1928, for which he was awarded the 1930 Nobel Prize in Physics. The National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) is instrumental in popularizing science across India and proposed the designation of February 28th as National Science Day in 1928. The Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Narendrapur Campus acknowledges the importance of nurturing scientific achievements. Beyond honouring the scientific community, National Science Day inspires the younger generation to embrace the marvels of science and its potential to shape a brighter future.
