Seminar on ‘Recent Trends in Biomedical Research and Medical Biotechnology’, IRDM – 3 April 2020

We are delighted to inform you that RKMVERI Deemed-to-be-University established and administered by Ramakrishna Mission is planning to launch a new academic programme, 2-year (4-semester) M.Sc. in Medical Biotechnology from the academic session beginning July 2020. To mark this occasion and to create awareness among the academic community of faculty and students, we are organizing a one-day seminar on Recent Trends in Biomedical Research and Medical Biotechnology on 3 April 2020 (Friday) at the University’s approved ‘Off-Campus’ Centre at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur, Kolkata 700103. We heartily invite faculty members, research scholars and students in the discipline of biological sciences at the undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels to participate in this seminar.

Sri Bratya Basu, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Departments of Science & Technology and Biotechnology, has kindly consented to be present as the Guest-in-Chief, and Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, and ex-officio Chancellor of the University, has kindly consented to be the Special Guest of Honour.

Date and Time: 3 April 2020 (Friday), 9.00 am – 4.30 pm
Venue: ‘Sarada Auditorium’ at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur, Kolkata 700103

There will be three technical sessions and one general session as follows:

  • Technical Session 1: Genomics in Health and Diseases: 10.00 am – 11.30 am
  • Technical Session 2: Beyond the genome—the human holobiont: 11.30 am – 12.30 pm
  • General Session: Launching of M.Sc. Biotechnology: 1.30 pm – 3.00 pm
  • Technical Session 3: Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) through the prism of genomics: 3.00 pm – 4.30 pm

A galaxy of experts in this field, mentioned below, has kindly consented to be Resource Persons to speak and interact during the above technical sessions:
