Applications are invited for the position of Project Associate -I (1 Position) (purely contractual post) in the project funded by National Medicinal Plant Board, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Narendrapur Campus.

Project Title: “Morphological and biochemical characterization of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera L. Dunal) germplasms for better seed yield and bioactive compound production in West Bengal.”

Principal Investigator: Dr. Ashutosh Sawarkar, Assistant Professor, Division of Genetics and Plant Breeding, RKMVERI, Narendrapur.

Essential:

M.Sc. (Ag.) in Plant Breeding/Genetics/ Genetics and Plant Breeding MSc. in Botany/ M.Sc. in any branches of Biological Sciences.

Desirable:

  1. NET/ GATE/ SET Qualification.
  2. Experience in biochemical and phytochemical analysis of medicinal plants with basic hands-on experience in genomic DNA extraction from plant tissues for research purposes.
  3. Field experience in experimental design, data recording, and analysis, preferably under RCBD/CRD.
 Project Associate-I ₹31,000/- per month + 12% HRA   Upper age limit – 35 Relaxation as per govt. rules.

Duration

3 Years or the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.

  3. As mentioned above, the above position is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis. The service of the appointed candidate may be terminated if the candidate’s performance/progress is not found satisfactory or on completion of the period of engagement in the project indicated in the offer letter or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier. The candidate cannot claim any legal right, whatsoever, for further absorption in the concerned project or in the university.
  4. No T.A / D.A will be provided for candidates appearing for the interview.
  5. No interim queries will be entertained. Canvassing in any form will render the candidate disqualified for the position.
  6. The decision of the university will be final and binding in all respects.
