Applications are invited for the following positions in the project funded by Space Applications Centre (SAC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Ahmedabad, at the Narendrapur Campus of RKMVERI

Project Title: Seamless Parameter Retrieval for Crop Yield Modelling through SAR and Optical Remote Sensing (under the Crop Production and Price Forecasting theme of SUFALAM Phase-2 Programme, SAC, ISRO)

  • Essential: M.Sc. (Ag.)/M.Sc. in Agronomy/Agriculture/Remote Sensing & GIS/Environmental Science or allied discipline with a minimum of 60% marks
  • Desirable: Knowledge in field data collection using mobile-based applications, basic statistical/data analysis skills, satellite remote sensing (SAR/optical), GIS, crop growth modelling,
 1 31,000.00 (Thirty-one thousand only, plus HRA @30% as per Government of India norms)
Daily-wage basis Manpower Minimum eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, having knowledge in field crops 1 500.00 per day (Consolidated)

Responsibility

Ground-truth data collection and field measurements (crop biophysical parameters, biomass, LAI, fAPAR, soil moisture), mobile-based crop data collection, data compilation and analysis, coordination with SAC, ISRO, and progress/report writing (Project Associate); assistance in field sampling, biomass harvesting and crop data collection during the kharif and rabi seasons (Daily-wage basis Manpower)

Duration

Project Associate – up to 31 March 2027, extendable up to October 2027 subject to approval of extension of the SUFALAM-II Programme by DoS. Daily-wage basis Manpower – engaged on a need basis for 22 days per season (kharif/rabi field sampling), or termination of the project, whichever is earlier, in consultation with the funding agency and university administration.
