We are delighted to welcome Dr. Debanjan Mukhopadhyay of Presidency University, Kolkata for an insightful talk on “Interferon γ and Tumor Necrosis Factor α induced cell death in Osteosarcoma cells: Implications of cytokine therapy in bone tumors” on 17 August 2024, 11 AM at JIVAN – Centre for Research in Biological Sciences, Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratisthan.

In this talk, Dr. Mukhopadhyay will emphasize the importance of cytokine based immunotherapy against Osteosarcoma, a typical bone cancer that affects long bones and can occur in young adults and children. At present surgery and chemotherapy are the options but the success rates of complete recovery are very less. Hence alternative immunotherapy is the future of therapeutics against this illness.  Dr. Mukhopadhyay’s lab is currently strategizing the cytokine based destruction of the cancer cells and it would be highly beneficial for the young scientific minds to listen to this thoughtful presentation.
